Role will perform the job of Building Engineer / Junior Technician to support daily maintenance of an assigned client within our Life Sciences business area in a Full-Time capacity.
Under general supervision, they will install, operate, maintain, a wide variety of equipment and building systems while performing general maintenance and support duties as needed.
This position requires a basic level of technical experience. The position requires participation in the JLL apprenticeship program, with an on-the-job learning and earning program that will take 12-24 months to complete.
The Apprentice focuses on real-world Engineering services and will coordinate with a Mentor to complete a robust program, including on the job training, on-line training, assessments and evaluations and completion of any necessary licensing.
Essential Functions Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned Provide professional feedback to Lead Engineer / Facility Manager on maintenance procedures.
Support and assist in maintaining up to date & complete system documentation in a central resource location, for all repairs or changes to the system.
identifying and reporting all equipment problems, impending supply or material shortages to the Facility Manager or their designate.
Maintain tools and orders supplies as required for installation and repairs. Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of materials.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace. Roles and Responsibilities This position has a high percentage of wrench time and focused on general maintenance, repair and inspections of equipment associated with the facility.
The individual in this role must be available for call-in work and to perform other duties as required. Candidate trains in and adheres to all health and safety policies and procedures.
Apprentice is responsible for completing all training modules and assessments in a 24- month period. Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and / or practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade practices, industry standards, codes, and / or requirements of jurisdictional authorities, and JLL Services guidelines and / or practices Skills / Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent, with two years of trades schooling in electrical, HVAC, or general trade knowledge is preferred Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems / malfunctions and take corrective action as required Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
Skilled and physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment.
Completion of written documentation and training modules is required.
