The overall programme is to deliver 75 schools in Lima and 9 regions of Peru by the beginning of 2024, with a value of almost US$1bn, along with supporting the transfer of knowledge of your specific discipline to the Client team whilst working to international best practice.
We are currently part way through procurement of 9 main packages of works, all planned to be awarded as Design and Build Contracts by Q3 2022.
The role is a Peru based Technical Assurance Lead to support the overall Technical Assurance Lead of the Programme, initially focused on assisting the Client team through the design phase of these contracts and, once licences are approved, the technical and quality aspects during construction.
Your responsibilities will include :
Being part of the senior design leadership team, directing the overall strategy with the client and supporting in all technical aspects throughout the contract design and construction phases.
Helping lead technical design reviews with the UK team help lead a multidisciplinary team (such as architecture, master site planning, safety systems including fire strategies as well as resilience and durability in construction).
Supporting Mace's drive to net carbon zero by proposing technical solutions to reduce environmental impact throughout the construction and operation of the schools.
Having the ability to technically analyse and provide technical solutions to issues through the design and construction of a school’s project as well as coordinate with the UK team.
Managing weekly technical progress meetings with PEIP-EB in the country with support from the UK team.
Supporting weekly technical progress meetings with contractors in the country.
In-country technical assurance coordinator for the client and internal team.
Having the ability to upskill both client and contractors, delivering knowledge transfer across a variety of design topics.
Coordinating technical inputs to the risk register.
good understanding of BIM to be able to coordinate with BIM teams both within the Client and Contractor teams and you have to be fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
