Management and Direct Oversight of the engineering designs development, engineering design reviews and site construction of all infrastructures associated with supporting and sustaining a +3,000 tpd underground mining operation.
Work closely with internal and external EPCM organizations and / or functions to capitalize on potential efficiency gains in support of project success.
Provide Work Scope Definition , Contract development and reviews. This position is estimated to have 3 direct reports; 2 Project Supervisors and 1 Fixed and Electrical Supervisor

Manage the development and installation of all infrastructure associated with supporting and sustaining a +3,000 tpd underground mining operation.
Management of these projects may include the management of multiple small projects or a single large project at any given time.
Using accomplished skills in understanding project timelines and software generated schedules as well as software design packages, the Project Manager will provide the leadership and direction required to ensure that the projects associated with infrastructure construction are completed on time, within scope tolerance and within the operating budget.
Assessing the applicability of such changes to other Newmont sites. All this being done in cooperation with other appropriate disciplines including Continuous Improvement, site senior, middle and lower management levels.
Recommendation of, and input to, decisions regarding new technology. And contribute to relevant research and development.
Training & Experience
Education : Tertiary Qualification in Mine Engineering, advanced degree in Mine engineering a plus.
Experience : 10 to 15 years in operations and construction. Experience in Infrastructure Design and Construction. Construction planning experience in multi-construction situations.
Construction planning experience in a range of construction applications. Experience with oxide and refractory ores, with associated autoclave, roaster, or sulphide flotation plants, oxide Au leaching and Cu / Au ore bodies is a plus.
Knowledge of Mine methods, mine design, production scheduling, equipment selection, reserve estimation & project evaluation at all stages from Target ID to Installation is preferred High level of competence in the use of Design software, including optimal techniques and cash flow analysis.
Surface Infrastructure : Earthworks and Drainage packages, Dry / Work Shop / Office Facility, Backfill Plants Permanent and Temporary, Lunchrooms and Food Prep Areas (Cocinas & Comedors), Electrical Distribution, Substations & MCC’s, Ventilation Structures supporting Fan Installations, Raise Development, Dewatering Phases including Dewatering Wells and Pump sizing, Water Supply Systems including Tank Construction, Material Handling including Cement delivery systems, Shotcrete Plant Systems, Communications Systems.
Underground Infrastructure : Ore / Waste Pass Construction including load out points. Air-doors / Bulkheads / Stoppings.
Sump Construction. Shop Facilities (Permanent or Temporary). Fuel & Lube Facilities. Refuge Chamber Installation. Dewatering Schemes.
Electrical Distribution. Compressed Air Delivery Systems. Emergency & Secondary Escapeway Construction / Installations. Ventilation Systems.
Communications Systems. Backfill Delivery Systems Skills : Ability to build and maintain strong communications network with peers, Project Managers, Mine Managers, Chief Engineers, and JV partner representatives.
Well networked into industry specialists and consultants. Strong technical writing, group presentation, and interpersonal skills including cultural sensitivity.
The position is located in Cajamarca, Peru. Elev. 9,100ft AMSL. At times, Site work will become necessary where elevations reach +13,000ft AMSL.
Performance of the work may require travel (10-25% of work time) to domestic and international operations and the corporate office.
