Job Purpose

The Performance Test Engineer is a part of a high-performance feature driven Performance test team responsible for performance testing of complex e-commerce solutions.

You must have a proven track record of solving various business and technical problems while taking responsibility for meeting business objectives.

This job requires solid technical skills to provide performance testing expertise throughout the entire software development life cycle.

You should have expertise with performance testing life cycle, solid experience with writing performance test scenarios and scripts, and use of performance testing tools and framework.

In this role you will get to

Analyze and elicit non-functional requirements (incl. performance-related) and other requirements-related documents / files across needed / expected performance testing activities;

Create performance testing scenarios according to operational profile, planned load distribution and planned load level using performance testing tool (JMeter);

Execute planned performance tests (all planned types) defined within the project;

Create performance-related bug reports in the bug tracking system and perform the fixed bugs' verification;

Actively participate in daily project team meetings and brainstorming activities related to the project issues;

Provide updates to effort estimates and status of assigned tasks;

Collaborate with other teams across the engineering department;

Provide recommendations to Lead and / or FM to improve performance testing related procedures, systems, and tools;

Actively contribute to continuous improvements to performance testing methodology and underlying processes;

Work with Lead and project leads in defining technical issues and performance bottlenecks;

Conduct on-boarding and coaching of new Performance Test Engineers (if needed).

Your skills and qualifications

1+ year of performance testing experience;

Theoretical knowledge base in performance testing;

Acknowledgment with analytical tools (like Google Analytics) and basic performance entry data;

Experience with the main Test scenarios creation in performance testing tool :

Assertions, Extractors (RegExp, CSS, Xpath selectors)

Performance metrics (throughput, response time, threads, latency, hits);

Experience with load test types execution (smoke, stress, spike, stepping etc.);

Server monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana) and server metrics (resource utilization);

Experience with CI and Git;

Experience with performance testing estimation :

Experience with tools :

Jmeter

Jenkins (understanding how to run job and analyze the results)

AWS (how to start / stop instances, analyze metrics)

Experience with documentation :

Bug Reports creation

Performance Test Report

Real practical experience with performance testing of an e-commerce platform

Intermediate English writing and speaking skills.
