KEY ACTIVITIES The Business Development role is a key contributor to the business unit in identifying, evaluating and executing on important investment opportunities, such as Industry Cloud.
It has significant influence on the development and growth of profitable new platform businesses and develops and maintains effective strategic relationships with industries technology and emerging cloud partners, focusing on Automotive and Industrial Machinery & Components (IM&C) Industries (includes Industrial Manufacturing, Discrete Manufacturing, Heavy Equipment).
Accountable to ensure business growth through business development activities to ensure they are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy.
Impacts the revenue growth and profitability of the company through strategic and tactical decisions and new business development results.
position and revert back with the SAP industry portfolio Develop and pursue technology partnerships which extend SAPs portfolio and new business model innovations Leads the effort of identifying, sourcing, managing and implementing new business opportunities for the Automotive and IM&C sales teams Area 2 Contributes to the development and refinement of SAP's vision and strategy for the Automotive and IM&C IBUs Supports the process of management and corporate decision- making to ensure the organization maximizes short, medium- and long-term profitability and shareholder returns May provide senior executive level leadership on leveraging new business development strategies and business plans throughout NA Provides leadership to all levels of the organization including regional and local executive teams Area 3 Liaise with executive heads on the implementation of strategic and operational plans for customer requirements, customer councils, and partnerships or targeted routes to market Liaise with the global Discrete Industries regional leaders to ensure alignment with the region go-to-market strategy and execution plans Contributes to the development, review, and reporting on business development strategies ensuring strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the team.
demonstrated sales proficiency in SAP or competitive products Experience in working in global / diverse and virtual teams Focus on quality and excellence Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal, Written, Listening, Presentation) Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment Fluent English, other languages a plus Up to 80 PERCENT travel Location Chicago Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
