Purpose of the role
Partnering with both the account servicing and digital teams, the Senior Designer provides support on both internal and client-led campaigns and projects.
The Senior Designer is responsible for a wide range of creative projects for print, digital, web and motion including project management.
You will provide support to clients on a range of digital media campaigns as well as working across the business on internal projects.
Key responsibilities and tasks
Creative services and project management
Designs and develops original creative web and digital content, including animations, motion graphics and interactive elements using the latest technologies
Delivers high quality graphic design for both print and digital channels
Leads video projects including scripting, storyboarding and directing the interviewee on what to say and how to say it
Fully manages client projects from pricing / storyboarding / wireframing through to delivery
Offers consultancy to clients proactively to highlight our creative experience
Stays up to date on best practices and current trends
Partners with other departments to develop compelling and imaginative creative solutions (e.g. video, infographics, web design) for both TEAM LEWIS and current and prospective clients
Take clear notes and affirms actions during briefing sessions
Provides strategic design support for pitches and internal communications
Refines and communicates methodologies in creative project management
Client Management
Supports clients in all aspects of nurturing and growing their brands and products using inventive creative ideas, developing innovative solutions
Works closely with the client to regularly review account performance, identifying and communicating opportunities for additional PR, marketing and digital tools and services
Plays an integral role in the new business process, taking an instrumental role in generating content and presentation preparation, in addition to attendance
Ensures regular contact with the client is maintained by direct reports and other team members
Develops strong relationships with existing agency clients within TEAM LEWIS, in addition to supporting new business, by demonstrating the value, benefits and capabilities of the Digital team
New Business
Assists with pricing and selling projects
Proactively approaches teams and clients with ideas for creative campaigns
Maximises opportunities and outreach to external brands, as well as existing and past contacts, to build new business leads
Works with the Creative Director APAC to monetise and introduce new interactive technology and experimental design that can be packaged into new offerings
Team working and development
Acts as a respected manager, working closely with junior team to maximise strengths, improve weaknesses and support career development
Sets project objectives on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
Defines and positions deliverable client objectives with the team
Monitors team activity levels against budget, suggesting changes to individual allocations where possible
Provides guidance to colleagues on how to best manage projects, including answering general new business requests
Maintains a high degree of visibility around the office, speaking regularly to account leads
General
Runs and supports training sessions, with a view to maximising opportunities to expand team skills and grow revenues
Takes a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its identity, values and work
Supports the HR / talent team by promoting both internal and external opportunities at LEWIS across social media and via the referral scheme
Maintains a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of competitors activities
Overall, be a guardian of best marketing practice
About you
Competent in all four fields : Print, Digital, Web and Motion
Software skills :
Web : Dreamweaver, Edge, Muse
Good video skills : video filming, editing, post-production and motion graphics
Good knowledge of HTML / CSS and WordPress
General understanding of coding practices and ability to hand code HTML mailers and webpages from scratch if required
Creative and contemporary design skills
Continue to develop core design skills through training in new design techniques
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Flexible attitude and enthusiastic approach
Multi-skilled across creative channels
Photography skills are a bonus
Excellent project management skills
