Position Summary Senior Transportation Engineer that will be responsible for the development of plans for transportation improvements, traffic signal design, traffic modeling and analysis, geometric design, and report writing.
Typical work tasks include Leading project tasks including roadway plan development, cost estimating, and report writing, Participating in project scoping, fee estimating and proposal activities.
Achieving project objectives including quality / scopes, budgets, and schedules. Mentoring team members. Attending onsite and offsite client meetings.
Ability to effectively communicate design details through presentations. Technical writing skills a must. Able to work on own initiative, while contributing to, and learning from, the wider team.
Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines #BIA Qualifications Bachelors of Science in Engineering required, Major Civil (Transportation / Traffic Focus) 10-15 years related experience required in transportation work with an emphasis on infrastructure (freeways, tollways, transportation planning etc.
projects required Previous Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois Tollway experience required.
