About the role
Working as part of the Supply Chain team at our John Dewar's & Sons site in Glasgow on our portfolio of leading Whisky and Gin brands, you will lead the Production Planning and Supply's team.
You will provide effective production planning and supplies for the facilities, ensuring the availability of components, taking into account manufacturing constraints and answering to our customers' needs.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
To do that, you will;
Drive planning and supply performance through initiatives such as demand replenishment, supplier execution and SAP optimization, including planning and managing co-packer performance.
Lead the planning and materials team on a daily basis delivering continuous improvements across customer and operational metrics.
Build effective cross functional team working, collaborating across planning and other areas of the organization, namely production, quality, procurement, new product development.
Ensure end to end processes are aligned to deliver optimal production and material plan.
Manage the S&OP process for both material and production capacity planning, analyzing the supply plan to identify changes that will impact the operations
Leading cross functional production planning meetings
Coordinate the planning of production capacity and enforce the right communication flows between Global Supply Chain, supplier base and plant.
Develop plant to plant way of working with key suppliers.
Drive the supply chain elements of the supplier integration programme
Communicate material requirements and forecasts to Supply Base, including external manufacturing
Manage packaging material inventories in order to minimize purchase and holding costs.
Lead the development of a strategy to place the right safety coverage in the right place and at the right stage of the supply chain
Support the S&OP process from a Plant Planning and Materials perspective.
Analyse and report materials excess and obsolescence taking corrective / preventative actions that will minimize financial risk.
Lifecycle management. To include comprehensive phase out and phase out and phase in plans covering all levels of bills of materials
Support Senior Supply Chain Manager through the provision of accurate and timely information to enable effective decision making.
Ensure communication and follow up of KPIs with team and monitor and push achievements.
Regularly report on process performance measures and continuously seek to identify improvement opportunities through the process
Lead participant from supply chain in supplier QBR reviews
Coach and mentor direct reports, providing developmental support to grow the performance and potential of the individual.
Develop talent pipe line aligned to our business requirements and Talent Scorecard
Foster a team environment where high performance is driven by our values
Develop reporting systems and processes, utilizing new technology and SAP functionality as it becomes available
Measures of success
Deliver Order Fulfilment Rate (OFR), Total Items Production Planned (TIPP), Inventory Goals, Plan Accuracy, Material Costs, Material supply issues, Supplier integration milestones
Employee Engagement - Drive sustained improvement in engagement and enablement, as measured through the Employee Engagement Survey (EES).
Ensure Performance and Development plans and assessments are in place to support business needs
Talents : Develop capabilities of the team and deliver against competence and talent management activities.
Critical experiences for success
In depth knowledge of End to End Supply Chain Processes
Technically astute in relation to obtaining and analyzing data within SAP environment
Expert level utilising planning tools and techniques
Capability to overview, manage and co-ordinate multiple projects and interests
Project Management knowledge
Leadership competencies and excellent communication skills
Skilled knowledge of SAP, and SCM
Highly competent in MS Office
3 years plus management experience in supply chain function, ideally in multinational FMCG
