Investment Associate in Climate Finance, Lima

The role entails close interaction with existing and prospective partner Financial Institutions, external Investment and Technical Assistance Committees, as well as various internal stakeholders.

Your enthusiastic and client-oriented nature as well as your ability to coordinate and set priorities across different departments by keeping tight timelines will support your success in this function.

The position is essential in supporting the further development of the climate impact business in the Latin American region.

This role is designed for a professional who can easily connect with internal and external stakeholders and who operates comfortably in a fast-paced, international environment.

Your Main Tasks

  • Analyze financial statements and annual reports of financial institutions (FI) to determine their suitability for an investment.
  • Collect and assess relevant financial and clean energy sector data to understand an FI’s green lending potential.
  • Draft Investment Proposals for the Investment Committee, in close coordination with responsAbility’s Investment Officers and Energy Specialists.
  • Liaise with the various internal stakeholders collaborating on a transaction and supporting their needs throughout the investment process from due diligence to disbursement and monitoring.
  • Coordinate and conduct on-site field visits in the context of counterparty and market due diligences, prepare relevant investment proposals as required.
  • Monitor trends in the financial and clean energy sectors and develop relevant, concise and thoughtful summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research factors that will result in successful green lending programs across a variety of market contexts and keeping up to speed with market developments.
  • Perform regular financial monitoring of outstanding transactions as well as investees, and risk-relevant market and sector developments.
  • Your Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an investment or consulting firm, covering the financial sector, or financial / investment experience in the renewable energy or energy efficiency space
  • Comfortable in preparing and managing large financial data sets.
  • Independent in research and analysis.
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills in English and Spanish and ability to apply them successfully internally and externally, as well as competence in the use of presentation and quantitative tools;
  • oral and written knowledge in Portuguese would be a plus.

  • Reliable, flexible and self-motivated personality who enjoys interacting with different cultures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at short notice when required.
  • Interest and enthusiasm for Climate Finance and the company's specific business.
