The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Project Controls Manager for our one of our most important EPCM in Ausenco - Peru.
Minera Las Bambas S.A. (MMG), is currently operating an open pit mine and minerals processing plant for recovery of Copper and Molybdenum concentrates from the mined ore.
Las Bambas 3rd Ball Mill (third ball mill) Project consists of the installation of a new Ball Mill (26 ft. dia.x 40.5 ft.
length) with a 16.4 MW Gearless Motor Drive (GMD) in the grinding plant adjacent to Ball Mill 2 including all associated infrastructure to support the introduction of a Third Ball Mill.
Ausenco has been appointed as the EPCM contractor to design and manage the expansion of the processing plant including associated infrastructure.
Project duration is expected to last from Quarter 1 2019 to Quarter 4 2020. Project role will commence in Lima with the intent to transition to site in Mid 2019.
The Project Controls Manager is required to provide management, mentorship and guidance, in all aspects of cost control and progress measurement to ensure that the project is delivered to budget and in accordance with the Client’s and Ausenco’s objectives.
To assist the Project Manager and support the Construction Manager in the planning, implementation and management of project controls for the Las Bambas project.
Key Responsibilities of the Role :
Setup the baseline budget and control accounts against which trends, scope changes, commitments, payments, forecasts, budget variances and earned value can be monitored and reported.
Contribute to cost / value engineering initiatives across all stages of the project.
Qualifications
Experience in scheduling is preferable.
Fluent in Spanish and English (oral and written)
