In a nutshell :

Our Business Managers represent Emerald in a given region, this role can be based in Panama or Mexico. Although the role is revenue-focused, the Business Manager must be able to look more widely and develop non-commercial opportunities such as faculty-influencing and new product development.

Business Managers are responsible for both the retention and up-selling of products to existing customers, and the development of new accounts.

  • Please note that this role requires frequent long-distance travel
  • Day to day we’ll trust you to :

  • Achieve and improve upon agreed sales targets
  • Provide both existing and prospective customers with purchasing options
  • Act as a principal negotiator, and deliver powerful presentations, when originating or renewing contractual agreements
  • Achieve effective customer account coverage through an agreed number of face to face meetings
  • Increase electronic usage, in turn increasing renewals
  • Feedback competitor intelligence and opportunities to the business
  • Provide up-to-date information on prospects and sales to an agreed timetable
  • Effectively communicate with all relevant internal support teams
  • You’ll need to have :

  • Advanced negotiation and closing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Spanish and English
  • Experience writing proposals
  • Behaviours & Attributes :

  • Proactive and self-starting
  • Goal-oriented, sales-focused
  • Have gravitas and the ability to communicate with people at a senior level
  • It’s more than just skills and experience, this is what we’d like to see :

  • The demonstration and sale of databases to both existing and new customers, through customer visits
  • Contribute to the overall development of the products and services by providing customer feedback in order to capture market positioning
  • Represent Emerald at conferences and exhibitions including product demonstrations and product reviews
