NAVICA is a new mobile suite of applications that Abbott designed to pair with our BinaxNOW rapid antigen test for COVID-19.
Test results can be stored, accessed and displayed on your NAVICA app that works on iPhone and Android devices. If you test negative, the app will display a temporary encrypted digital pass with a QR code, similar to an airline boarding pass.
Sharing your mobile pass, with NAVICA-enabled organizations such as employers and schools, verifies authenticity of your COVID-19 test results facilitating entry into places where people gather.
If you test positive, you'll receive a message in the app to quarantine and talk to your doctor. This combination of NAVICA with the BinaxNOW rapid antigen test for COVID-19 is life-changing technology that will address the pandemic on critical fronts speed, simplicity, affordability, access and reliability.
Our location in Lake County, IL currently has an opportunity for a Senior Product Security Engineer as part of our NAVICA program.
WHAT YOULL DO An experienced security professional who can apply their experience toward medical device cyber security. Responsible for providing technical direction on security strategy and technology to build safe, secure products.
Help with assessment and design of existing and new programs. Areas of responsibility will include security design, threat modeling, security testing, and cybersecurity event monitoring and response.
Core Job Responsibilities Provides cybersecurity expertise and assists in designing control measures into new and existing medical device products and customer facing digital solutions .
Develops and maintains technical expertise pertaining to cybersecurity and effectively transfers knowledge to applicable stakeholders within the organization, including quality, regulatory and R&D team members.
Participates in the development and integration of the cyber security program across the medical device division, including processes regarding the implementation of security mitigations, responding to security incidents, and the consistent handling of security events.
Assists with performing threat modeling and risk assessments of existing and new Abbott medical devices and customer facing digital solutions.
Anticipates business and industry regulatory issues to provide recommendations and solutions to potential issues or vulnerabilities.
Manages and monitors security remediation efforts to successful completion. Develops and effectively executes project plans, work breakdown structure and task dependencies, communication plans, etc.

5 years of work experience in an information security role evaluating and implementing cybersecurity i.e. engineering or architecture for various types of technology (desktop / server / mobile).
Energetic team player with strong initiative, team orientation and good problem solving skills. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a timely manner, and be able to meet assigned deadlines and service levels.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, resolve problems, deal with unresolved issues, delays and unexpected events, and the ability to effectively communicate and maintain rapport with supported customers.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clear, concise business communication for multiple levels (management, technical, user).
