The main purpose of the role is to manage sustainability, community engagement and community investment activity. The Sustainability Manager builds relationships through proactive and reactive engagement activity, and act as a trusted point of contact for communities affected by the project.
Manages, tracks and evaluates data on community engagement and investment activity.Responsibilities : Plans and delivers engagement activities for the project area, including preparation of information and documents for newsletters, events and presentations.
Builds and maintains positive relationships and acts as a trust point of contact, understanding community issues and underlying concerns.
Manages and maintains the Community Liaison Plan, and Community Survey : Works with the Client and the Stakeholder Manager to develop a Community Investment Plan and programme of investment activities.
Develops effective working relationships with the client, the project team and the wider project supply chain. : Monitors and evaluates the performance of investment and engagement activities using a continuous improvement approach.
Supports the Stakeholder Manager and U and A Interface Manager in complying with requirements of Undertakings and Assurances.
Identifies and escalate risks, issues and concerns to the project promptly and effectively, and assist the delivery teams in providing mitigation.
Supports onboarding training and ensures that project team and contractors are fully briefed on community issues and concerns.
Represents the project at public meetings. : Must have dual language (Spanish and English) skill.Supervision Received : Receives supervision from the Project / Stakeholder Manager.
Receives functional guidance from the GBU Workforce Services Manager. : May receive operational direction from Lead Construction Manager.
Supervision Exercised : Provides operational direction to project team, contractors and subcontractors. Contacts : Routine contact with the client on community engagement issues.
Maintains relationships with the stakeholder and consents team, project team and contractor / subcontractor representatives to coordinate community engagement activity.
Maintains relationships with local authorities, residents and businesses.Qualifications and skills : Experience of planning and delivering community engagement activity, ideally related to construction / infrastructure projects.
General project management experience, ideally with experience of managing community investment projects / small grants programmes.
