Job Description
Cacao de Aroma is a second-tier cooperative founded in 2014 sponsored by German cooperation project PRODATU II. Five cooperatives are members of Cacao de Aroma : Asociación de Productores Nueva Visión, Cooperativa Agroindustrial Cordillera Azul de Nuevo Progreso Ltda COOPACANP, Cooperativa Agroindustrial Paraíso Ltda.
COOPA, Cooperativa Agroindustrial CP Cacao and Cooperativa Agraria Mishollo. Their combined efforts produced 1,100 tons of cacao beans in 2020.
Five hundred and eighty tons of their production were exported. They have clients from Switzerland, Italy and Austria. They have 3 varieties of cacao beans differentiate by their quality and sensorial profiles.
Cacao de Aroma provides high quality cacao beans according to the standards of sustainable, organic and fair-trade agriculture (FLO).
The cooperative is responsible for negotiating national and international contracts for coop’ members. Furthermore, they negotiate and supervise transportation of members’ products and revise financial documents to encourage accurate reporting.
Cacao de Aroma has around 614 members and 5 employees.
Cacao de Aroma is partnering with AGROS a small Peruvian business that offers digital cost-efficient solutions to improve data collection and communication with farmers on the fields.
Their aim is to increase Peruvian farmers economic digital inclusion by providing them a digital ID to access loans, specialized knowledge and increase their market opportunities.
As leaders’ entrepreneurs on their area, they have participated on Peruvian Social Environmental Entrepreneurship Network Kunan and MIT Challenges.
AGROS will implement coop members Digital IDs Encrypted in Blockchain to better collect and analyzed data for CP Cacao (Cacao de Aroma member).
Cacao de Aroma is looking for more efficient and reliable ways to collect data from their members and the field. They have decided to partner with AGROS in order to digitalize the entire collection process, in order to allow members make data backed decision and allocate resources efficiently.
