Jacobs is much more than just a traditional engineering company. As a Mid Level Structural (Bridge) Engineering Professional and vital member of our Chicago team, youll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs.
You will serve in a technical role and / or task lead on bridge design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation (highway and rail) projects on local and international projects.
You may begin to serve as a Project Manager. The successful candidate will possess knowledge and experience in Planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specification development, bridge inspections, and report writing.
Must have strong background in structural engineering analysis and design, and have a proven background in technical leadership on structural transportation projects.
Should be active in technical societies and be available to attend meetings or events outside normal working hours. Qualifications Here's What You'll Need Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering EIT (Engineer in Training) certification Demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, to include analysis,design and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects Demonstrated knowledge of SAP2000, CSiBridge, Larsa, Midas, Lusas or other structural design / analyses programs Solid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures Ideally, You'll Also Have MSCE or Masters of Structural Engineering A structural emphasis academically with coursework to include structural analysis, foundations, and design with structural steel, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete materials Illinois PE license (Professional Engineer) SE license (Structural Engineer) Task lead or project management experience on three or more projects Previously demonstrated project experience with Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, Metra, Class I Railroads, CTA, and / or IDOT
