An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to fill the position of Manager, Water Resources, with our Environment and Sustainability business based in our Lima, Peru office.
The focus of the Manager, Water Resources is to realize and maintain technical excellence in the service areas offered and in turn develop market share.
This will include the preparation and execution of studies to the highest levels in terms of technical and economic outcomes.
The role’s objective is to achieve the economic sustainability of the department as well as to expand the service in country and the region (Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, support Brazil).
We are seeking forward thinking candidates who can :
Manage a group of specialists providing water resource services, primarily within the Mining sector, in terms of : Performance review and professional development;
Administrative management of personnel, with support of corresponding areas (People & Performance; Payroll; Finance, other);
Chargeability and gross margins; Compliance with Ausenco professional conduct requirements
Provide technical and strategic leadership for staff within the area. The group is intended to operate using industry best practices, at a high level of technical competency
Responsible for financial performance of the Water Resources Group, in conjunction with Environment & Sustainability Manager
Perform Business Development activities related to Water Resources services, and also cross-selling’ for other Ausenco service offerings
Position includes leadership of water resource projects and proposals in the region, in collaboration with staff from other Ausenco offices
Work within a multi-disciplinary Business Line
Coordinate and Collaborate with other Consulting Business Lines within Ausenco, and also with the Project Delivery (Engineering) area
Coordinate and Collaborate with technical leaders in other Ausenco offices
Leading proposal submissions, for water resources area
Business Development of water resources engineering, particularly within mining
Responsibility is primarily focused within Peru, but will also include supporting projects within South America and globally, as required.
Travel to sites and other Ausenco offices is periodically required
Act as a senior technical resource; project manager; and / or technical reviewer within the water resources area, as appropriate
Build a network of expert, external consultants who will be able to assist on project-specific technical requirements
Graduate degree in a relevant discipline for example civil engineering, water resources management or hydrogeology
A postgraduate qualification in Civil or Water Resources Engineering or related discipline highly regarded
Proven experience, minimum 15 years, in water resources management and assessments related to hydrology, water balances, dam break analyses and hydraulic structures, with an emphasis on the mining sector
A working knowledge of Water Resources modeling software is desired
Strong communication skills including high level professional reporting and proposal writing
Solid business development and client relationship skills
Ability to manage and motivate staff in the group, across business lines and geographies
