Purpose of Position :

  • To develop, maintain and manage sales opportunities for Hexagon’s mining product portfolio within the mining industry in South America
  • To achieve sales targets set on an annual basis
  • To provide leadership and development of direct reports
  • To develop budgets for Mining Sales in liaison with Regional Business Manager
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of a CRM strategy
  • To maintain and build strategic relationships with existing and potential customers and industry contacts
  • Major Areas of Responsibility :

  • Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to continue growth of Hexagon’s mining product portfolio
  • Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target and implement plans to counteract deviations
  • Present and demonstrate the mine systems product range and associated benefits for customers
  • Negotiate sales contracts and associated install and commissioning milestones
  • Develop financial and personnel budgets, with input from direct reports, for approval by senior management
  • Appoint, coach, manage and monitor the performance of direct reports, including the provision of leadership and direction to ensure transfer of knowledge on products, industry and clientele, and professional development opportunities
  • Identify, foster and leverage relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and industry contacts supporting the attainment of the goals for the business
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region, industry, and in particular, customer needs and requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Global R&D Manager and Product Owners to provide insights into client and industry product requirements as well as potential developments which will set us apart from its competitors
  • Represent Hexagon in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Marketing team and other global sales team members to prepare for such events
  • Represent the business in industry associations where appropriate to advance the interests of the wider Hexagon mining business division.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts as required
  • Liaise with Finance department for management of receivables
  • Compliance with Hexagon’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and safety of himself / herself and the safety of others
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time
  • Knowledge & Experience Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Engineering (Mining / Electrical / Electronic) or equivalent highly desirable
  • 5-15 years of field sales experience.
  • A software integration sales background is highly preferable
  • Proven successful sales and account management track record is essential
  • Commercial experience dealing with technical products and solutions (pre-requisite)
  • Considerable commercial experience in the mining industry (highly desirable)
