Dexis is seeking an experienced Chief of Party (COP) to lead the technical and management of a 5-year USAID-funded project supporting USAID / Peru’s regional biodiversity and conservation portfolio, called the Amazon Knowledge Learning Platform Activity.
and improve knowledge and evidence for the conservation of Amazon biodiversity and climate change mitigation services. This is a long-
term position expected to start in the middle of 2018 based in Peru or Colombia with frequent travel. This position is contingent upon award.
The COP will lead all technical, financial, and administrative aspects of the project and will coordinate closely with USAID in developing, implementing, and adapting the project’s overall implementation strategy.
The COP will be the principal link between USAID, Dexis, and other partners and provide overall strategic and technical guidance to field staff, subcontractors, and short-
term consultants. The COP will provide comprehensive expert technical oversight and guidance in all aspects of the program, including monitoring and evaluation, learning, and reporting to USAID.
This is a full-time position based in Peru or Colombia with travel in the region.
Serve as the main point of contact for the contract with USAID and implementing partners.
Provide vision, direction, leadership and management for the activity while serving concurrently as the technical director for all technical biodiversity and conservation monitoring, evaluation, and learning services, and having overall responsibility for quality control and responsiveness of all work provided under the contract.
Lead and oversee the operations of the contract to achieve successful implementation of activities in compliance with USAID regulations.
Identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate program adjustments.
Minimum of 5 years in a director or chief of party level role leading and managing complex development projects and teams in the Latin America region, preferably as a Chief of Party for a USAID-funded project.
